DESCRIPTION:Description\nWHAT:  Faculty Lead Study Abroad Course to the island of Bonaire\, the scuba diving capital of the Caribbean.  Expand your diving skills and experience the warm\, clear waters of the Caribbean while earning your Master Scuba Diver certification (the highest rating possible for recreational divers).  During the course\, you’ll receive the following certifications:  Advanced Open Water\, Rescue Diver\, Equipment Specialist\, Enriched Air Nitrox\, Deep Diver\, Wreck Diver\, Night Diver and Master Scuba Diver.  \n \nWHERE:  Bonaire\, Netherlands Antilles.  Located just north of Venezuela\, Bonaire is part of the “ABC” islands consisting of Aruba\, Bonaire and Curacao.  The island enjoys a year round air temperature of approximately 80 degrees with water temps ranging from 78-86 degrees.  In addition to world class scuba diving\, Bonaire is also a premiere destination for windsurfing and kiteboarding due to the constant trade winds.  The island also hosts a national bird sanctuary\, nesting grounds for all four species of sea turtles found in the Caribbean and many other topside attractions.  There’s plenty to do when you’re not diving \nWHEN:  Travel dates are March 2 – March 11\, 2018.   \nWHO IS ELIGIBLE: This course is open to anyone who is a certified Scuba Diver. SUMMARY:New Years Day Dive
DESCRIPTION:Marquette Scuba Divers make their annual New Years Day dive at one of their favorite shore dive sites in order to ensure that bragging rites\, for being the first in Lake Superior\, remain theirs. Pictured here are the partakers of this event from last year. The air temp is forecast to be in the single digit territory and the wind chill somewhere between 25 to 30 below\, this is not an event for the feint of heart. The water however\, should remain a balmy 39 degrees\, give or take.
